Summary of Our Project
Drug Trafficking is one of the many problems that affect every nation in the world. it involves selling of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and can range from a simple local exchange between drug users and dealers or can also be a major international operation. drug trafficking is specifically defined as the commercial exchange of drugs, drug paraphernalia and any other equipment USED TO MANUFACTURE OR USE THEM IT IS A GLOBAL ILLICIT TRADE INVOLVING THE CULTIVATION, MANUFACTURE, DISTRIBUTION AND THE SALE OF SUBSTANCES which are subject to drug prohibition laws. unodc, a global leader in the struggle against illicit drugs and transitional organized crimes, is continuously monitoring and researching global illicit drug markets in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding to their dynamics. drug trafficking is a key part of this research. according to the drug policy alliance network, law enforcement agencies would need to intercept around 70 percent of illegal drugs in order to reduce drug trafficking around the world. at the present time only about 10 to 15 percent of heroin is intercepted, and only approximately 30 percent of cocaine is seized.
the dea enforces laws that carry various penalties for drug crimes. a person found in possession of certain illegal drugs, such as cocaine or heroin, will face no less than 5 years in prison. a theory about enforcing called the balloon theory , states that when law enforcement agencies crack down on drug trafficking in one area, it increases in another. this is one of the problems with trying to colmbat drug trafficking around the world. our project aims to elaborate on matters about drug trafficking by producing a website that centers on this topic. the main purpose of this website is to shed some light in the effects of drug trafficking around the world, the efforts which are done to solve them and how the whoole world unites to fight against it. we envision a finished website which display drug trafficking as an international issue that the world continue to struggle against.

Problems We had to Overcome:
We had very few problems that we encountered during the making of this project. The most noteable one, however, was our lack of leadership. All of us kept pointing at each other until we lose valuable time and eventually fail to carry on with our task. Nobody wanted to take initiative so our usual strategy was pass all the work to just one person which was very inefficient. We continued with that kind of routine until one day we simply realized that we had no more time and had to rush. It became another very big problem for us and we really had to work hard to finish this site. Luckily we could still push ourselves to work in spite of the pressure since we also consider this as school work and was also graded.
We had minimum problem in accessing the internet since all of us have our own computers at home. The only problem is that we live very far away from each other and we got problems in communication since we do not share the same network in our cellular phones. These are, however, very simple problems and could be easily solved so it did not really bother us and was not a big part in making this site.

Information tools and technologies used:
Our own computers and school computers helped us with almost every research we had to do for this project.
A digital camera owned by our very own mister Anthony Rimorin, which was used to record our team description video.

In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your project both on-line and in person?
We have created this website to let people know more about drug trafficking and the efforts done by the world to stop it. We want to let people see the importance of helping each other and by doing that we can hopefully help bring down the barriers between countries and the people. We want to help people realize that when the world will do things together anything could be so much easier and we could see things so much better. We want to open the minds of the people to see the rest of the world in a different view.
What has been the impact of Your Project on Your Community?
Right now,we cannot tell what the project has already done to the community as we have no way of knowing their opinions on our site. The only sure thing about our website is that it will give more information about drugs and drug trafficking. WE hope that the viewers will see what we want them to portray in this site.
How did Your Project Involve Other Members of Your Community as Helpers of Your Community as Helpers and Volunteers?
Our coach gave us most of the advice we got. All the rest were minor questions that we asked to our classmates. Other than that we did not get any other additional help.
