II. Situations
A). Africa
- Last october 2007, africa had to overcome cocaine trafficking. although cocaine is not produced in africa, the continent and its western region had a rapid increase of seizures. africa was a transit area of cocaine traficking between latin american and europe countries. cocaine seizures originating from western countries and reported by european countries. most data come from drug enforcement agencies like unodc(united nation on drug crimes), they provide information on individual drug seizures. annual and individual drug seizures data were the main data that was used for analysis.

b). america
- Another transit country for cocaine is central america. these are bound for the main consumer markets that are from north america and Europe. for the markets in north Africa, cocaine is transported from Colombia to mexico or central america by ship, then land onward to US and Canada. the us authorities state that 90% of cocaine traffickers are entering the country that crosses the land border line of us / mexico. most of the traffickers enter at the state of texas. But according to the us estimates, 70% of cocaine leaves in colombia by the pacific. but colombia is still the main source of cocaine.
c). europe
- Cannabis at europe is usually available in the forms hash and marijuana. althoudh marijuana is gaining popularity, hash is still predominant in europe. a substantial part of the hash on european markets comes from morocco. traditionally, the Rif are in north morocco ha been a place where cannabis is produced. Since there are nearby european markets where you can buy cannabis became accessible, the acreage of north morocco has growed considerably.
d). asia
- afghanistan is a country in central asia that dominates opium markets around the world. last 2009, opium was produced at afghanistan with a weight of 6,900 metric tons, which is 90 per cent of global supply. afghan heroin feeds is also a global market worth 55 billion dollars, and most profit is made outside the country. the neighbors of afghanistan are also are affected by trafficking, but the other drugs are also moved to other places or destinations like western europe and the russian federation.about one-third of heroin are exported in the country of afghanistan that are being exported to Europe using the route of Balkan. while a quarter of heroin is exported to central asia and the russian federation.
e). here in the philippines
- the illegal trade of shabu has grown into 1 million peso a day industry. but now shabu has already become more expensive. meking it the poor man's cocaine no more. antinarcotic officials and international drug reports said that the street price of shabu costs from 15.000 - 17.000 pesos depending on what location is it sold like the provinces, the regions, the cities and the municipalities. prices was due to the government success on dismantling of clandistine laboratories nationwide.

DEA (drug enforcement administration) - to enforce controlled substances of the rules and regulations of the US and to bring the criminal and civil justice systems of the us, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and high members of some organizations, controlled substances appearing in or destined illegal involving the growing, manufacture, or distribution of traffic in the us; and to recommend and support non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of illegal controlled substances on the domestic and international markets.
2. UNODC (united Nations office of Drug Crime) - a global leader in the struggle against illicit drugs and transnational organized crimes, is continously monitoring and researching abouy global illicit drug markets in order for them to gain more comprehensive understanding of their dynamics. they also monitor the crop producing.htey also have alternative developments. and they also demand reduction.
b). Local
1. PDEA( Philippine Drug Enfrocement Agency) - they are to be the lead of the anti - drug law of the philippines; to serve as the arm of the dangerous drug board. to exercise operational supervision over drug enfrocement units of the other law drug enforcement agencies, and to coorrinate the participation of the other sectors in national anti - drug campaign.
IV. Effects
- Drug trafficking is one of the largest illegal business around the world. making about 8% of the international trade. translated about 400 billion dollars annually. this trade enriches the drug barons, gangsters, corrupt police forces, bribr politicians, and finance terrorism and at a world level, police manages to confiscate just 10 - 15% of the trafficked drugs. drugs can corrode societies, hitting on a society can affect alot of people like the families, workers, and leaders.
